Defining Moments

Last night, the show's title was "Defining Moments". We talked about those pivotal moments in our life that inspired us to change. We talked about the frustrations of seeing those you love deal with obstacles and hardships because of their lifestyle choices yet refusing to make positive changes. Sometimes you have to hit rock bottom and realize there is no way out but through God. Those are the 'defining moments' that bring us closer to God because we have to rely on Him to get us out.

We also had a guest on the show share her testimony about how God has worked through her life. She started off her testimony by saying she was a forgiven, redeemed, child of God. I love that. That's how we all should identity ourselves. We don't need to identify ourselves by our sins, but by our redeemer. We don't have to justify our choices to compromise and remain in the sin..especially since we never know who we are effecting.

We also talked about when you say you are a Christian, people will begin to see if you live differently because they are searching for something different. And how can we reach and influence the world for Christ if we are living just like them? Jesus lived WITH sinners, but he didn't live LIKE them. It's on us to step up with boldness and stand up for what's right.

All in all, it was an interesting conversation and I enjoyed hearing Allison's testimony. God has great things for her. And God has great things for YOU! Never look at your mess or look at your past and question whether God can use you or not. When you ask for forgiveness, you are forgiven. Personally, I think the best ministries are led by those that have been through some things and can show others the way to get through as well. I hope you enjoy Episode #9 as much as we did! Reflection

Tonight, we will be recording our podcast show entitled, "Reflection". We will be reflecting on 2014. What would we do differently? What would we do more of? Less of? How do our lives reflect Godly characteristics? Or, how do we fall short in reflecting them?

Royal Beauty

Last night we really enjoyed having Janaya Royal on the podcast. The episode was entitled, "The Finer Things" and we talked about how the world pushes certain images on us & creates an illusion of what beauty should look like.

We discussed some of the definitions of what beauty means in different countries and what we personally thought beauty is.

We were excited to interview Janaya Royal on the show who has published an ebook devotional. In her devotional, she shares what beauty is defined as in the dictionary. She also told us about how many people struggle with identity and who they are. This devotional helps uncover who you are in Christ and what the bible says about YOU! Don't sleep on your dreams

Last night was the beginning of a dream I have had inside of me for awhile now. But before I share what it is, here is how the dream began:

In my current position at work, I was introduced to a local radio show called Michigan Business Rap. My boss is a weekly expert panelist along with other business owners. On occasion, I would accompany him to the studio to take photos and post info on social media during the show.

Then, he began to give me the opportunity to share or speak if I had something to add to the topic begin discussed. I always felt like I had something to add, but I was sooooo nervous!!! However, the more I had the opportunity to speak on the radio, the more confident I became. It was exciting to me & I quickly discovered it was a passion of mine.

I am by no means experienced or a veteran, but it is something I enjoy & am passionate about. So,  my husband and I have been researching different podcasts, microphones, radio shows, costs, etc.We decided to start our first podcast last night. It was really fun. So exciting, in fact, we both had a hard time sleeping last night!

I am so glad we made the choice just to get out there and start. Many people wait until the 'right moment' or the 'perfect time' but there isn't one. The right moment is now. The perfect time is today. Now don't get me wrong, you have to plan ahead and map somethings out. But what I'm saying is that a lot of us have dreams inside of us and are using various excuses to put it off. Maybe we are afraid of failure, maybe we don't know how to begin. But again, if you don't know how to begin, simply start & you will figure it out along the way.

I share this with you to re-light the flame of those dreams inside of you. What is it that you have wanted to do for a long time? Write a book? Start a business? Sell your paintings? Whatever it is, just start. If you don't know what it is you want to do...do you have any passions or strengths? Start there and figure that out by just trying different things. It won't be perfect. It will be hard. It will be messy. You will make mistakes. But at least you are trying. At least you are testing your limits, taking risks.

We have decided to do a show that is divided into 2 segments: The first being our LIFE SEGMENT & talking about topics that interest you such as health, finance, parenting, etc. The second segment will be WORD SEGMENT. This will discuss what the bible says about things you are going through.
